Pakistan Steel facing shortage of senior staff

Pakistan Steel Mills is facing shortage of senior officials due to sudden speedy retirements of senior officials.

Sources said that about 1,000 officers will be retired from PSM who are working on senior posts including DGM, GM and PEOs. To run the largest steel mill of the country in smooth way, it is necessary for chief executive officer of the PSM to plan a HR strategy to overcome the issue.

A press release from PSM supported the issue that 9 senior GM posts were vacant due to retirement out of eight filled by departmental promotion committee through up gradation to general manager posts while one general manager placed through advertisement.

On the other side, CEO of Pakistan Steel, Major General (r) Mr Javed said that hard work done with national spirit, honesty and sincerity never goes waste. There is need to work with such a zeal for the progress of Pakistan Steel. He made this observation on the occasion of distribution of promotion letters at the Operations Building to 8 deputy chief engineers elevated to the rank of general managers.

Promotion means that you have to work with even greater confidence and responsibility so that your experience and abilities can be harnessed for the better running of Pakistan Steels.

The officers who have been promoted have more than 30 years of experience in their field and their names are Engineer Athar Husain Zaidi, Naseer Ahmad, Imtiaz Hassan Shamsi, Sohail Sana Qazi, Captain (r) Pervaiz Akhtar, Ali Mujtaba, Qazi Anwar Hussain and Iqbal Ahmad Qureshi.
