Positive results at ALUMINIUM CHINA 2009

Those who have attended the 5th edition of ALUMINIUM CHINA 2009, between 30th June – 2nd July, 2009, would be forgiven for thinking that the industry down turn and economic crisis did not ever hit China. Not only is Shanghai still buzzing with exhilarating business activities, entertainment and the spend spend spend mentality, the world’s most important aluminium industry gathering of the year ALUMINIUM CHINA opened its gates in Shanghai to 8786 qualified trade visitors and over 4000 exhibiting staff from 61 countries and regions, a record breaking result that surprised many of the exhibitors who attended the show.

ALUMINIUM CHINA 2009 gathered 265 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions and 8786 trade visitors, including 480 VIPs and 30 delegations from 32 provinces in China and 61 countries around the world. The visitor number is a 30% increase from 2008 event and also a record number compared to 2007 when the industry was at its peak. 47% of total visitors were from the aluminium applications industries like building and construction, transportation, electronics and machinery manufacturing, while nearly 66% of visitors have purchasing recommendation and decision making authorities. Leading the exhibitor this year are some of the industries’ top companies like the Aluminium Corporation of China, Dubai Aluminium, Furukawa-Sky, Nanshan Aluminium, Conglin Aluminium, Nanping Aluminium, SMS Metallurgy, Siemens VAI, Wagstaff, Pyrotek, Jieru Heavy Industry Equipment, FATA hunter, Achenbach, KAMPF, Novelis, LPSK Aluminium, Silver100 Aluminium, Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems, Elumatec, etc, who presented the latest products and leading technologies at the event and together instilled the Asian and the global community with the confidence in a imminent recovery. The performance of the show in Shanghai generated superb feedback from participants with 3/4 of the international hall sold for ALUMINIUM CHINA 2010 by the end of the 3rd day.

The onsite exhibitor survey show that more than 92% of the exhibitors are satisfied to completely satisfied with their participation, and 86% are satisfied with the number of visitors while 87% are satisfied with the visitor quality. The marketing manager from Emmegi China have commented: “we have received a huge number of professional visitors this year who had genuine interest in our product. We have rebooked our stand for 2010 as soon as we could and expects that we can further expand our market next year.

Onsite visitor survey shows the same encouraging results with 97% of the visitors happy with their visit this year and everyone surveyed expressing that they would like to revisit next year. The Deputy Plant manager for the Casting plant of the Chinalco Luoyang branch shared his view of the visit:”I was able to effectively achieve all my goals this year. I was able to meet old friends, find out about the latest technologies, while reaching agreements with a number of the suppliers at the show.

The associated 2009 China Aluminium Fabrication Forum, organized by the China Non Ferrous Metal Industry Association along with China’s leading aluminium information and consultancy provider Antaike, as well as the ALUMINIUM CHINA 2009 Onsite Seminar were moderated by experts and senior executives from IAA, AA, JAA, London Metal Exchange, etc., which provided the attendees with insights on the latest trend of global aluminium market including topics like aluminium futures, latest developments in aluminium rolling products and technologies are all were well received and attended.

Upon receiving the positive feedback from exhibitors and the aluminium consumers in the Yangtze River Delta Region, the organiser - Reed Exhibitions has confirmed that ALUMINIUM CHINA 2010 will continue to be held at Shanghai New International Expo Centre in 2010. The stand rebooking figure onsite is record breaking one and reaching 51% of the exhibiting space, with many more companies reserving their space.

Held alongside the magnificent World Expo 2010 next year, ALUMINIUM CHINA aims to consolidate and expand this highly-effective business platform to provide further coverage of the industry with more exhibitors and many more visitors in a crucial year. Let us look forward to ALUMINIUM CHINA 2010 in the Shanghai New International Expo Center from 9th to 11th June and a great celebration in Shanghai for all!
