The 28th of October marked the final day of this year's highly successful PTC Asia at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The show attracted more exhibitors and visitors than ever before. Around 1,500 companies presented their latest power transmission and control technology products and solutions on a combined display area of over 92,000 square meters (990,280 sq. ft). This comprehensive technology offering attracted nearly 60,000 trade visitors from 80 countries and regions, who came to Shanghai to find out about the latest trends and developments in this fast-evolving area of technology.

PTC Asia enjoys the support of a number of influential industry associations, such as the German Engineering Federation (VDMA). Hartmut Rauen, who heads the Federation's power transmission and fluid power divisions, was pleased with the results of this year's show: "PTC Asia was a resounding success for the German exhibitors. China remains the most important export market for German suppliers of power transmission and control technologies. Our exhibitors once again demonstrated impressively why they are widely regarded as industry leaders at the cutting edge of technology and performance." This year's PTC Asia again featured presentations from big-name companies, such as Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, argo-hytos, Eaton, Parker Hannifin, Hydac, Gates, Hawe, KTR, Daikin, KAWASAKI, NOK, SKF, Bonfiglioli and NORD.

"PTC ASIA is one of the world's leading trade fairs for power transmission and control technology, second in size and scope only to MDA Hannover. Having said that, we are confident that there is still plenty of room for further development, given the size and dynamic growth of the Asian markets," explained Wolfgang Pech, the Senior Vice President in charge of Deutsche Messe's foreign trade fair business.

A major highlight at this year's show was the global market launch of Parker Hannifin's "Viking Lite" directional pneumatic control valves. Lin Jiahui, Sales Director of Parker Hannifin's Automation Department, on the company's marketing strategy for China: "The boom we are seeing in the packaging, transport and automotive sectors in China will fuel demand for pneumatic control valves. We are confident that our strong commitment to innovation and our quality partnerships in this area will enable us to capitalize on these developments."

Over the next two decades, the Chinese market promises a wealth of opportunities for suppliers of hydraulic and pneumatic systems worldwide. Sweeping changes in the country's mechanical engineering and manufacturing sectors and the emergence of new, strategically important industries in China will fuel Chinese demand for hydraulic and pneumatic technologies.

PTC Asia is organized by Deutsche Messe and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd. The show also enjoys the support of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), the China Hydraulics, Pneumatics & Seals Association, the China General Machine Components Industry Association, the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing and the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. The next PTC Asia show will run from 29 October to 1 November 2012 in Shanghai.
