Reorganization of the BDG Executive Board

The Federal Association for the German Foundry Industry (BDG) has newly organized their executive board.

Effective immediately on July 1st 2013,  Dr.-Ing. Christian Wilhelm will be a new member of the BDG executive board for technology. Dr. Wilhelm (56) was previously a long-time employee of the Mercedes-Benz iron foundry in Mannheim, and most recently the director of the competence center of the foundry. He also served as the subsitute director for the foundry and is a lecturer at KIT (Karlsruhe University) in Foundry Technology.

He will be taking over the position held by Dr. Erwin Flender, who was an active member on the technical executive board of the BDG on an interim basis since April 2012.

Dr. Flender has been the president of the BDG since October 2012 and will continue the management of the German Association of Foundry Professionals (VDG).

The BDG would like to cordially thank Dr. Flender for his extraordinary commitment to the foundry industry.

RA Gerhard Klugge will remain on the BDG executive board for finance.

RA Max Schumacher heads the economic sector and has been appointed to be the spokesperson of the BDG executive board, effective July 1st 2013.
