According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in December 2011 new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 72,211 units decreasing by 15.1% MoM and down 23.1% YoY. In November new registrations decreased by 6.2% MoM and by 4.4% YoY.
New passenger car registrations in December totaled 39,451 units, decreasing by 14.5% as compared to the previous month and down 22.4% YoY. Passenger cars accounted for 54.6% of total registrations.
Small truck registrations in December, on the other hand decreased by 20.3% MoM and were down 30.7% YoY amounting to 14,204 units. Small truck registrations constituted 19.7% of total registrations.
In the whole of 2011, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 1,192,726 units with 28.2% increase compared to 2010.
