Turkey purchases scrap from Europe

Recently, Turkish buyers have returned to international market to purchase scrap.

It’s said that a Turkish steel mills currently reached an agreement with a European supplier to purchase a batch of scrap including 25,000 tonnes of HMS 75:25 with prices of USD 398 per tonne C&F and 6,000 tonnes of shredded scrap with prices of USD 415 per tonne C&F. The delivery is set in the beginning of December.

Traders indicated that Turkish steel mills purchased the scrap from Europe and Baltic Sea. However they haven’t had any scrap purchase from the US suppliers.

Dealers said that Turkish steel mills would rush to purchase between the end of November and the beginning of December by the coming of winter.
