Voestalpine Stahlwelt to open on November 7

Voestalpine Stahlwelt will open on the occasion of the Austrian wide research night Lange Nacht der Forschung on November 7th 2009. Beginning with November 10th 2009, voestalpine Stahlwelt will be open six days per week. Striking architecture and innovative exhibition concept offer fascinating insights into the applications for steel products.

To this day, developments involving all aspects of steel as a material affect the lives of people across the globe. They make new tools, machinery and buildings possible, while facilitating our lives and bringing continents, countries and people closer together. Nevertheless, many more opportunities and fields of application remain for high-quality steel products.

voestalpine Stahlwelt is a place for encounters, where people get to know steel and voestalpine as well as enjoy multimedia experiences. The one of a kind design of the architecture and the exhibition creates a unique interplay between the transmission of knowledge and hands-on experiences. The exhibition’s fundamental concept is based on the value added chain. As visitors proceed through the building floor by floor, they explore the realms of steel production, steel processing, steel products, and steel success stories. The exhibition’s one of a kind design creates a unique interplay between the tower’s transmission of knowledge and the converter’s hands on experiences. The top level focuses on the Group itself, while the café above it affords a unique view of the plant premises.
