John Douglas of OMEGA FOUNDRY MACHINERY LTD. to the new challenge of the presency of the FESA
At the annual general meeting on 2nd November, John Douglas was elected as the new president of the Foundry Equipment and Supplies Association of the U.K.
John is a chartered engineer and started work in the industry as an engineering trainee in the Wellingborough foundry of The British Motor Corporation.
Since 1968, he has worked in various companies supplying foundry equipment, particularly on sand moulding and treatment plants, both green sand and chemically bonded sand.
For 21 years he worked in various positions at Richards Engineering Ltd of Leicester until 1989 when he was appointed technical director of Internacional Alonso of Gijon, Spain.
He returned to the UK in 1993 as managing director of Integrated Sand Systems Ltd. of Walsall. Since 1999, he has been the deputy managing director of Omega Foundry Machinery Ltd of Peterborough and travels widely for OMEGA.
John has been involved with FESA for more than 20 years and will continue to work on developing new market areas for his own company and for FESA members.
