As of 1st October 2018, Wolfgang Schmidt (53) has taken on the role of the CEO of the Albert Handtmann Metallgusswerk GmbH & Co. KG, Handtmann Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG and Handtmann Leichtmetallgießerei Annaberg GmbH companies. Together with Dr. Michael Hagemann (Managing Director, Sales) and Josef Ludwig (Managing Director, Production), Mr Schmidt will be responsible for shaping the future of the Light Metal Casting division.
Wolfgang Schmidt boasts wide-ranging experience in the fields of cast iron, steel and aluminium production, steelmaking and steel treatment, metal forging and process engineering. Most recently, Mr Schmidt was a member of the company management team of Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH, headquartered in Georgsmarienhütte. “In the past few years, the Handtmann Light Metal Casting group has developed a good structure and generated a great deal of growth. This is coupled with important unique selling points which, together with the team, I’ll be developing further in order to continue this success story. I’m looking forward to this new role and am convinced that we’ll successfully meet this challenge.”
