Nederman - Effective and economical Oder reduction in foundries

As part of a research project to investigate unpleasant odors and gaseous pollution in foundries, Nederman Filtration has developed in cooperation with the “Institut für Gießereitechnik” an efficient and cost-effective method for reducing the impacts. Surface active substances such as activated charcoal are used for adsorption.

This method provides foundries that already have a filter unit for particle separation or need such a filter unit an interesting and inexpensive way to reduce the odor emission by more than 50%. Thus, this technique is a good alternative to thermal oxidation, which has a much higher energy requirement and therefore is also costly. In a pilot project the reduction of odor levels could be achieved on an average of 54% with the additive Minsorb DX Lhoista.
