DISA’s President and COO reflects on 2014 and 2015
When distributing the 1st DISA newsflash in 2015, it is only natural to take a look back and reflect on steps taken in the previous year.
There is no doubt that 2014 turned out to be yet another defining year and major milestone for DISA. Not only did we have the opportunity to strengthen and further develop our on-going business in a multitude of markets. We also conquered new grounds and introduced ourselves to our first customers in Algeria, Colombia, Kazakhstan – just to name a few. We thank you for choosing DISA as your trusted advisor!
Complete foundry projects
Additional to a large number of new customer wins and projects, we also managed to extend our market share when speaking of complete foundry projects. Today, we enjoy the trust and loyalty of leading foundries all over the world; a position we will work hard to keep. Our many new complete foundry projects in 2014 will contribute greatly to our continuous efforts to innovate in 2015 – and beyond. With 400+ large foundry projects and 1,500+ moulding lines out there, we seek to deliver world-class engineering. Every day.
Worldwide customer symposium
October 29 – 31, 2014, are dates to be remembered! Hosting a symposium of 104 customers from 29 countries and with the attendance of 29 DISA agents and various media representative was a rare opportunity to experience the foundry business at its finest. Both at the DISA headquarters and technology centre in Taastrup and at Vald. Birn, one of Northern Europe’s largest foundry groups, we enjoyed the company, insights and much appreciated feedback of all of you – both customers and partners participating. It was most definitely an event to remember!
Bringing new ideas to the market at GIFA
In just five more months, we plan to bring you yet another event worth remembering: GIFA! You will find us in Hall 16, Booth E10 – where we look forward to launching some of our brand new equipment and applications. We hope you will join us and have a closer look at our latest complete foundry concepts, experience our digital and real-life machines first hand, and discuss your business challenges with our on-site specialists. At DISA, we truly believe that events like GIFA brings us closer, and that these close partnerships between you as our customer and us as your supplier empower us both to surpass our potential.

Attracting the right stakeholders at each stage of our business is key to the long-term success of DISA. Therefore, we were pleased to announce a new partnership with Altor Fund IV, the leading Scandinavian private equity firm, in December 2014. We believe the agreement with Altor to be a unique opportunity to pursue the next phase of our strategic evolution. However, as our President and CEO Robert E. Joyce Jr. already stated: “Our message to our customers remains the same: You will continue to receive the same level of high quality technical solutions and on-site support you have come to expect from us, and our staff will continue to deliver the most innovative products and services the industry has to offer”.
