CastForge a glowing success for Messe Stuttgart
First trade fair for castings and forgings with machining registered around 3,700 visitors / Great satisfaction among the more than 150 exhibitors
CastForge has made an impressive debut at the Stuttgart Exhibition Center. At the trade fair for castings and forgings, which ended June 7th, 153 exhibitors from 18 nations (21 percent international exhibitor share) presented their comprehensive product portfolio. The hosts of CastForge at Landmesse Stuttgart were enthusiastic about the high response with around 3,700 visitors and recorded very good and sound discussions.
During the three days of the fair, the Oskar Lapp Halle at the Stuttgart Exhibition Center was the new meeting place for castings and forgings in the D-A-CH region. The exhibiting companies are pleased to announce that CastForge has their own platform for the first time, from which they can map the entire value chain from cast or forged blank to machine machining to the final component.

Visitors of Premiere convinced

As with the exhibitors, the visitors attested to a high level of international interest in the premiere in Stuttgart. The trade visitors came from 32 nations (24 per cent international visitors) - besides Germany mainly from Italy, Switzerland, Austria and France - to the exhibition center. 32 percent of visitors work in purchasing, 13 percent in business / corporate / management and another 12 percent in manufacturing / production / quality control. More than 80 percent stated a concrete investment or purchase intent. Overall, 70 percent of the visitors concluded that the CastForge with its unique focus on castings and forgings as well as their processing offers the right portfolio and want to visit the fair again.
Excellent mood among the exhibitors
The exhibitors who attended the first CastForge were also enthusiastic about the event. Dirk Howe, Managing Director, Siempelkamp Giesserei GmbH, said: "Messe Stuttgart has prepared CastForge in a professional manner and for the first time succeeded in depicting the industry for castings and forgings with high compression. Among other things, this is a great advantage for buyers because they can gain a comprehensive picture of the supply of these raw materials with just one trip. At our stand, we had well-founded discussions and about 70 percent of the interested parties who visited us are potential customers for us. That's a very high rate. Because of this extremely positive conclusion, we can already say today that we will come to the next CastForge. "
GIVA GmbH will also be back at the next CastForge. The conclusion of their CEO Massimiliano Grimoldi: "With our office in Dusseldorf, we represent numerous Italian companies in the D-A-CH region and also at this year's CastForge. We are very happy that there is now a special fair for our area. The concept of Messe Stuttgart convinced us and therefore we presented ourselves with a large booth. This was a correct decision, because we were able to register more audiences than at other global trade fairs. We were a little surprised that such a trade fair attracts so many visitors. "

We are happy about the many trade visitors, who even came to us with direct project inquiries. In advance, we had not expected that they were so detailed and are therefore pleasantly surprised. Messe Stuttgart provided us with excellent information during the preparation. We are very satisfied with the cooperation and the organization and feel very well looked after here in Stuttgart. At the next CastForge you can visit us again in the same place! "
Numerous exhibitors came from abroad, especially from Italy. Gianluigi Trabucchi, Managing Director, Fonderia Vigevanese, explains as follows: "Germany is the most important market for Italian companies in the castings and forgings industry. We were able to make targeted contacts during the three days of the event, with visitors representing different industries. Partly, the talks resulted in concrete inquiries. The organization of Messe Stuttgart was excellent."
The concept of Messe Stuttgart not only convinced manufacturers in the casting and forging industry, but also associations that showed presence in Stuttgart with booths. Josef Hlavinka, Managing Director of the Foundry Association of the Czech Republic, reports: "We are very satisfied with the course of the fair. Our ten exhibiting members confirmed that they had received a lot of positive feedback and were able to talk to visitors about concrete, future projects. The Stuttgart location is ideal as a venue, as many companies from the automotive and engineering sectors are located here."
Leszek Szwalbe, Head of the Research and Development Department, Odlewnia Żeliwa Śrem SA, says on behalf of the PGO Group, a merger of Polish castings and forgings production companies: "Our expectations have more than met. In particular, we were impressed by the visitor quality of the trade fair. In addition, Messe Stuttgart supported us professionally in organizing our website and advertised the CastForge very well. In addition, the exhibition grounds, with its optimal transport connections, make it an excellent location, which is easily accessible."
Castforge: Looking ahead
Together with the industry, Messe Stuttgart is now further developing the concept. In addition to the question of the right trade fair turnaround and date, this also includes the future supporting program and suitable parallel events. There is no question that CastForge will endure in the Messe Stuttgart portfolio. Finally, visitors confirm that around 80 per cent of trade fairs are very important in researching suitable suppliers and more than two-thirds are regularly looking for new business partners.
