Pioneering automation and robotics in critical industrial processes for over three decades, Polytec is an Italian company that has been developing automation and robotic solutions for critical industrial processes for over 30 years.
Polytec is a premier system integrator and a global leader in robotic solutions for the steel industry. Polytec’s organization is structured with dedicated departments in electrical engineering, automation, and mechatronics, along with an in-house software development team that provides complete solutions from Level 1 control to Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms.
Each project is managed end-to-end by our operations team, which includes a robust project management structure to ensure seamless delivery, from acquisition through to after-sales service. Our extensive global network and presence ensure rapid and reliable support worldwide, with locations in Brazil, Mexico, the USA, and South Korea.
With a focus on innovation and excellence, Polytec is committed to delivering cutting-edge robotic solutions that enhance efficiency and safety in steel manufacturing processes.
Polytec expands into the foundry market, unveiling a range of purpose-built robotic systems designed to elevate safety standards, improve operational efficiency, and streamline processes.
At the forefront of Polytec’s foundry offering is its newly developed sampling robot, designed specifically for induction furnaces. The system automates the sampling process, ensuring precise and consistent results while safeguarding operators from direct exposure to the high-temperature environment. Equipped with an optional deslagging tool, the sampling robot provides foundries with a reliable and safe alternative for slag removal, reducing manual intervention and associated risks.
In addition to the sampling robot, Polytec’s portfolio for foundries includes advanced dross skimming and marking robots, which further streamline operations by handling these critical tasks with unparalleled accuracy.
Polytec’s robotic solutions are fully customizable, allowing foundries to tailor each system to their unique needs and operational environments.
The synergy between Polytec and the other companies of BM Group, an industrial group with over 370 direct employees, has enabled Polytec to establish itself as a leading international integrator of systems to pursue the digital and energy transition of industry.
ASSESSMENT-BASED APPROACH
Polytec’s business strategies are focused on the satisfaction of its customers. We conduct feasibility studies with 3D spatial data acquisition to evaluate the impacts and make suitable choices. Every system is designed according to the specific requirements of the customer. 3D drawings and simulations replicate motion and performances in a real working environment. This procedure allows us to verify the actual feasibility of a project, thus saving time and money and showing the resulting advantages. Every solution and platform are engineered and assembled inside Polytec's workshop. All environmental conditions and plant operations are recreated for the optimal fine-tuning of the systems. During the Factory Acceptance Test, customers can test performances before shipping to the steel plant. Together with the customer, Polytec directly supervises both installation and start-up under the coordination of a Project Manager. Technical support and training are part of the commissioning process.
