Finnish engineering and technology group Metso Corporation said on Monday (15 October) that its subsidiary Metso Minerals will expand its manufacturing and foundry capacities and office premises in India with a combined investment of EUR12.5m.
The company said that the decision to invest is due to the increased demand for crushing and vibrating equipment and pumps, and related service products in India.
The investment at the Bawal factory in Haryana includes building an assembly line dedicated for mobile crushing and vibrating equipment, doubling to the current floor space, as well as new production equipment.
The expansions will be completed by the end of 2008.
Metso, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, has 25,000 employees in more than 50 countries and reported net sales of EUR4.96bn in 2006. Metso is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.
