China Knowledge reported that Chinese automaker Chery Automobile Co Ltd is likely to build Asia largest auto test and technology center at its plant.
The auto test center, called Chery Automobile Test & Technology Center will become the incubator for Chery new technology and new product and will help upgrade the automaker technology and quality of its products to a higher level.
An official from Chery said the center will be engaged in testing and verifying new products as well as upgrading and verifying support for the products in the production process.
Upon the completion of the construction, the center will have seven sections for testing the vehicle, crash safety, noise and vibration, emissions, powertrain, spare parts and materials.
The largest domestic car maker in China aims to increase its vehicle sales by up to 80% to 900,000 units in 2010. In 2009, it sold more than 500,000 cars becoming the best-selling home-grown brand.
