Siemens has installed its 1000th wind turbine in the UK at the Gunfleet Sands offshore wind farm off the coast of Essex. The offshore wind turbine is part of the 48 3.6 MW total of wind turbines comprising the Gunfleet 1 and Gunfleet 2 fields owned by Dong Energy. Siemens is also part of the SMart Wind consortium, which was awarded a 4 GW contract for the Hornsea Round 3 offshore wind farm zone.
