Germany-based functional coatings provider AHC Group has launched a line mounted valve for foundry machines that can resist wear and corrosion.
The line mounted valve and the pneumatic cylinder are located directly on the shooter cylinder in an effort to save energy for the generation of the compressed air.
The 3/2 way line mounted valve will ensure that gases from the shooter cylinder does not escape during venting.
The optimum surface protection was worked out in partnership with the valve manufacturer, supplier of the core shooters, and coating specialist that resulted in a prolongation of the service life of the line mounted valve.
AHC Group said that sand casting moulds for large cavities are produced with core shooters. The cores with which the cavities are filled in the course of casting consist of moulding sand mixed with a binder. After which, they are compressed with air pressure by means of a pneumatic cylinder.
The company achieved corrosion protection for die cast zinc components like such as pilot valve, adapter plate by a 20 µm thick DNC AL coating.
