Bradken’s Amite Facility Achieves ABS Certification

Bradken®, a leading global supplier of differentiated consumable and capital products, is pleased to announce that its Amite, LA, USA facility, part of the Engineered Products Division, has achieved ABS certification to produce steel castings for marine applications. This certification qualifies the Amite facility to produce machined steel castings (Wildcat and Anchor Windlass Components) in carbon and low alloy steels to 25,000 kg (55,000 lbs) in accordance with ASTM A27, A216, A915, A958, A148 and A487.

As one of the larger North American steel foundries, Bradken’s Amite facility's growth strategy involves investment by Bradken in technical resources such as ProEngineering and Magma Soft solidification modeling. The facility is highly experienced in producing cast and fabricated products for the industrial, mining and construction markets, providing superior products and services. In recent times, a greater focus has been placed on the introduction of technical tools and advanced infrastructure assist twith the manufacture of more challenging steel castings. Basic arc melting technology contributes to the high standard of castings and an on-site machine shop provides rapid production and delivery of machined castings from a single source.

Bradken’s Engineered Products Division is based in Kansas City, MO, USA and has manufacturing facilities in Atchison, Kansas; St. Joseph, Missouri; in Tacoma and Chehalis, Washington; Amite, Louisiana, and London, Ontario; as well as a trading office in Xuzhou, China.  The company designs and manufactures large, highly engineered ferrous sand castings, machined components and assemblies for major companies in the energy, mining, railroad and mass transit industries.
