Strong foundries for a strong group
Silbitz Guss GmbH is the oldest and largest site of the Silbitz Group and is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. The foundry offers its customers a wide range of services in steel casting, stainless steel casting and iron casting. The company has its own high-performance materials testing facility and, thanks to its wealth of technological experience, is in a position to develop and manufacture highly complex castings together with the customer. In two in-house X-ray laboratories, castings can be x-ray tested to ensure a high level of quality. At the Silbitz site, castings are produced for the wind power engineering, drive technology, mechanical engineering, construction machinery/mining, tooling technology and rail technology sectors, among others, in the weight range from 10 kilograms to 11 tons per piece. The Silbitz foundry has an annual capacity of 25,000 tons of good castings.
Complementary to this, the plant in Zeitz is a completly newly erected, state of the art jobbing foundry for single parts and series from 4 tons to 50 tons per piece. At the Zeitz site the Silbitz Group is mainly serving the wind power, energy technology und drive, mechanical engineering segment also with a capacity of 25,000 tons.
EUROCAST Košice, the largest slovakian foundry, manufactures most varied cast parts with a broad range of materials. Parts from 10 kilograms up to 12 tons are produced for e.g. the rail technologie sector or drive technologie.
As the Group's own mechanical processor, Silbitz Group Staßfurt AWS GmbH complements the portfolio of foundries. The companies key focus is customized machining and surface coating of axle bearing housing for railway vehicles, gear unit and bearing housings for the wind power industry. Silbitz Group Staßfurt is one of the leading manufacturers of axle bearings.
