GER - Audi builds new aluminium foundry in Bavaria

Ingolstadt - The Audi car manufacturer will be expanding its’ Ingolstadt location and has purchased a 40 acre plot. On the premises of the industrial park, Münchsmünster will be under a different press plant, and assembly lines for body panels and an aluminum foundry are to be developed, announced the corporate group on Tuesday. The first development of 27 hectares of land will start later this year. "The strategic investment in Münchsmünster is one element of our growth strategy. It allows us to relieve the existing sites and surrounding areas to take advantage of future technologies, “says Audi Board Member for Production Frank Dreves. In the second half of 2013, Münchsmünster manufacturing areas will go into operation. In the new plant, an approximate total of 900 employees will be busy with 250 new jobs.
