Lesedauer: min

Seven “best” suppliers have received the Mann+Hummel Global Supplier Award 2011. Given the growth targets of Mann+Hummel GmbH, purchasing and supplier development are becoming more strategically important for the company. The filtration specialist’s purchasing volume is rising in line with its turnover.

In fact, the approximately €1.5 billion the company is spending on supplies now is expected to increase about 70% by 2018. So, supplier quality is absolutely essential, as the partners and suppliers of Mann+Hummel have a significant impact on the company’s success.

“We are committed to serving customers and maintaining our good reputation,” For 70 years Mann+Hummel has been synonymous for first class filtration performance", explained Frank B. Jehle, deputy CEO, on the occasion of Mann+Hummel’s presentation of the award at the group’s 2nd Global Supplier Event in Stuttgart. “Our partners share this success.” Jehle went on to characterize the award winners as “seven partners who implement our requirements in an exceptional manner” and whose good names stand for the high standards Mann+Hummel represents.

The 2nd Global Supplier Awards, for 2011, were presented to Anhui ZhongDing Sealing Parts (China), a manufacturer of seals; Arnold Umformtechnik (Germany), a manufacturer of turned parts; Foma (Italy), a manufacturer of aluminium cast parts; Jens Schliessmeyer Kunststoffartikel (Germany), a manufacturer of plastic parts; Lanxess (Germany), a manufacturer of high-performance plastics; OASA (Italy), a manufacturer of stamped parts; and Sandler (Germany), a manufacturer of filter media.

Mann+Hummel, a development partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industries, is planning for dynamic growth and for a rise in turnover from €2.18 billion last year to €3.4 billion in 2018. Special targeted growth regions are the BRIC states of Brazil, Russia, China and India. Reliable partners are essential for this growth.

“Purchasing within the group is a strategic parameter for our company,” says Hanno Höhn, head of purchasing. “A continuous, structured and qualified development of our supplier base is a must. We need our partners to see the big picture, for them to recognize how their good performance supports our common result.”
