The FemPower in metalcasting– Passion and Success – 2025 Edition

Nominations announced in the competition promoting women in the foundry industry.

The Competition Jury announced the list of nominees for the nationwide " The FemPower in metalcasting– Passion and Success" competition, organized by the Polish Foundrymen’s Association. The aim of the competition is to honor women who demonstrate passion, knowledge, and commitment to the development of Polish foundry – both in science and industry.

From among the candidates submitted, the Competition Jury selected five nominees in each of three categories: Business, Science, and Young Women in Foundry. The choice was not easy, as each candidate demonstrated impressive achievements, professionalism, and determination. The Jury emphasized that the standard of this year's entries was very high, and each story deserved recognition. 

Nominated candidates:

SCIENCE: Aldona Garbacz-Klempka (Faculty of Foundry Engineering, AGH University of Science and Technology), Beata Grabowska (Faculty of Foundry Engineering, AGH University of Science and Technology), Jadwiga Kamińska (Kaw-Met Sp. z o.o.), Ilona Kieliba (Nemak Poland Sp. z o.o.), Joanna Kulasa (Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals)

BUSINESS: Katarzyna Bernaciak (ZGM Zębiec SA), Barbara Juszczyk (Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals), Joanna Madej (Łukasiewicz Research Network - Krakow Institute of Technology), Joanna Trzeciak (Odlewnie Polskie SA), Danuta Zawadzka (Silum Sp. z o.o.)

Online voting has begun and will last until November 30th of this year. Everyone can cast their vote at https://stowarzyszenie-stop.pl/konkurs-kobieca-sila-odlewnictwa-pasja-i-sukces/ . The results of the voting and the award ceremony will be announced during the Final Gala, which will take place on December 12, 2025, in Krakow, as part of the Polish Foundryman’s Day 2025 – the most important event for the foundry industry in Poland.


The competition is held under the patronage of the Faculty of Foundry Enginering - AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, the World Foundry Organization (WFO), and the Foundation Educational Perspective – Women In Tech, the Committee on Materials Science and Metallurgy of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations (NOT), the Business Center Club, and the Łukasiewicz Research Network. Krakodlew S.A. is the event's strategic partner, and partners and supporting institutions include Barwa Cosmetics and Jubiler Eclat, as well as industry media outlets like Przegląd Odlewnictwa and STAL Metale & Nowe Technologie, and the international industry portal Foundry Planet.

The " The FemPower in metalcasting– Passion and Success” competition is an initiative that promotes women working in technical industries, inspires the young generation to take on challenges in science and industry, and breaks stereotypes associated with engineering professions. The project demonstrates that technology and industry have a feminine face – full of passion, professionalism, and commitment.
