UK - Chamberlin warns of cost, production pressures at UK foundry

Lesedauer: min

Specialist castings and engineering group Chamberlin warned that it was experiencing increased costs at its Walsall foundry in England.

Revenue for the first three months of its current financial year was in line with expectations.

However, chairman Keith Butler-Wheelhouse said costs were also on the rise.   'Demand at the Walsall foundry continues to be strong, driving increased production volumes,' he said.

'However, this level of output is currently causing excess cost and production inefficiency, which are being firmly addressed by a strengthened management team.'

Butler-Wheelhouse said profits would be weighted towards the second of the financial year.

The company could reaffirm  current market estimates for the full year, he said.
