Vietnam February steel consumption reached 300,000 tonnes

Lesedauer: min

According to Vietnam's ministry of industry & trade, Vietnam has consumed 300,000 tonnes of steel in February 2009, an equivalent to the volume in December 2008. Thanks to an abundant supply and the positive impact of financial support policies, steel prices remained stable, ranging between VND 11.000 to VND 11.650 million per tonne in the north and between VND 11.100 to VND 11.560 million per tonne in the south. Ministry of industry & trade said that the demand for steel is predicted to increase slightly in March 2009 as the construction season is at its peak and the volume of steel in stock is estimated at 200,000 tonnes. However, the global prices of steel ingots and finished products are likely to go up again as the world economy is showing signs of recovery.
