Lesedauer: min

Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd. and Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc., the regional headquarters of the Hitachi Automotive Systems Group in the Americas, today announced to merge Hitachi Automotive Systems Queretaro, S.A. de C.V. and Hitachi Automotive Systems Mexico, S.A. de C.V., both Group manufacturing bases, on October 1. The merger is aimed at expanding business scale, as well as optimizing business operations with an eye to strengthening management and governance in the Mexico region.

Against the backdrop of free trade agreements with numerous countries, Mexico is also pushing ahead in the automotive sector to expand car production, as global car makers and others move in with production hubs and export bases that are directed largely toward the United States, its neighbor and easiest export target, but also toward South America, the EU, Japan and other regions. The Hitachi Automotive Systems Group is moving to reap maximum benefits from the expected continuing growth of the Mexican automobile industry by merging the two companies to consolidate business capabilities, etc., and exploit the resulting stronger management efficiency and Mexican business foundation to offer broader and more sophisticated support to car makers which are growing their businesses in Mexico.

The company surviving the merger, Hitachi Automotive Systems Queretaro, will be the regional headquarters for Mexico and use the trade name Hitachi Automotive Systems Mexico.
