AMAFOND is the italian association, at present consists of 90 companies which produce for the foundry industry. It was established in 1946, on the initiative of a group of important operators in this sector and at present comprises the most qualified companies specialized in foundry plants, foundry machines, melting and industrial furnaces and foundry products.
The italian association is a founding member of CEMAFON, the European Committee of the Manufacturers of Materials and Products for Foundries whose president is Gabriele Galante, CEO of IMF Group, Italy.
Francesco Savelli the President of AMAFOND since May 2012 and Commercial Director of the Savelli SpA of Brescia along with the General Secretary Dr. Fabrizio Carmagnini welcomed 200 CEOs, owners and managers of the most important companies of the branch at the beautiful location of Villa Baiana northwest of Brescia.
The 20 sponsors ABB, ASK Chemicals, Cavenaghi, EKW, Evolut, Foseco, Foundry Ecocer, IMF, Impact Unlimited, Italpresse, Laviosa, F.lli Mazzon, Meccanica Pi.erre, Metef/Foundeq, Protec-Fond, Satef-HA, Savelli, Sipag Bisalta, UBI-Banca di Brescia, and Sogemi supported this event generously.

Dr. Enrico Frigerio, president of ASSOFOND and Dr. Mario Bertoli, president of ASSOMET expressed their greetings to the guests.
The lectures were held under the aspect of the financial state crisis in Italy which also heavily affects the foundry suppliers industry.
Following presentations were given to the high-ranking audience nourished with plenary discussions on how to overcome the problematic situation:

The conference ended with a buffet dinner and a delighted get-together with Prof. Vittorio Sgarbi, an Italian art critic, politician, cultural commentator and TV personality, discussing the topic: “Art and Foundry, Italian pride”
