The 3rd Carl R. Loper Conference on Processing of Metallic Materials through Casting and Solidification

It is our great privilege to invite you to the 3rd Carl Loper Conference. While the first two events featuring the name of Carl Loper, organized in Madison Wisconsin (2009) and Bilbao Spain (2019) had as main subject cast iron alone, this conference has an expanded scope to include Processing of Metallic Materials through Casting and Solidification. This is because Professor Carl Loper’s name has become synonymous with not just cast iron, but with all facets of metalcasting. “Carl Loper” is a brand. It represents a tradition, but also the vision to go beyond the borders of the known science and engineering of metal casting, which is the goal of this conference.

The event will be held during 23-25 September 2024, at the Sergiu T. Chiriacescu Aula of Transilvania University in the historic city of Brasov, Romania.

Digital transformation of manufacturing companies discussed at METAL

Companies' development and strengthening market position depend on the implementation of digital transformation in a given company. This long-term process requires proper preparation; otherwise, digital transformation projects fail. "How to introduce an effective digital transformation in a production company? " - the seminar organized by the Enterprise Europe Network Centre at the Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce was chaired by Michał Żelichowski, who emphasized that digital transformation is a necessity, but it can only be achieved in small steps. The insight into digital expansion was supplemented by a webinar  "The industry of the future and the metal industry". The participants learned, inter alia, what is the industry of the future and whether the metal industry can be modern.

The autumn event, which brings together companies professionally involved in the metallurgical market, still welcomes exhibitors. The expo accompanying seminar can be an excellent opportunity to present modern solutions designed for the industry. The sessions offered an immense dose of practical knowledge.

Interessierte aus den Bereichen Forschung und Entwicklung, Konstruktion, Produktion und Qualitätssicherung in der Energietechnik, dem Maschinen- und Anlagenbau oder dem Fahrzeugbau sind aufgerufen, ihr Vortragsthema beizutragen.

Der internationale Kongress »InCeight Casting C⁸« leistet einen Beitrag zu aktiver Vernetzung und bietet einen zielgerichteten Austausch aller am Produktentwicklungsprozess beteiligten Disziplinen ermöglicht der internationale Kongress »InCeight Casting C⁸«. Das Fraunhofer-Institut für Betriebsfestigkeit und Systemzuverlässigkeit LBF in Darmstadt hat diesen Kongress mit Ausstellung 2021 erstmalig durchgeführt. Der Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie BDG, die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Zerstörungsfreie Prüfung e.V. DGZfP, die Det Norske Veritas Group DNV und der Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e. V. VDMA unterstützen diesen Kongress.

Zentrales Ziel des Kongresses ist es, Netzwerke zu schaffen, um über die eigene Disziplin hinaus ein Gefühl und Verständnis für Sorgen, Nöte und Bedarfe der jeweils anderen zu erlangen, die sie bei der Konstruktion, Bemessung, Simulation, dem Abguss oder der Qualitätssicherung eines jeden Bauteils umtreiben.
