The rapid market growth in the metal processing industry in Russia has generated an enormous requirement for new plants and equipment. Induction furnaces are no exception to this development. This has meant that FS induction furnaces from ABP have become a genuine top seller within a comparatively short time, with almost 20 units sold.
Young, flexible foundries with medium production volumes are starting to emerge. With a capacity of 1 – 6 tons, the induction furnaces in the FS series are among the smaller furnaces, yet this - combined with the reliable ABP converter technology - is precisely what makes them so popular. The market in Russia for medium frequency furnaces with a high capacity is still not particularly lively due to the large number of old line frequency plants there. This enables the FS furnaces to bring all their benefits into play. With an output of up to 4.8 MW, they can melt up to 5.5 tons of metal per hour, depending on the particular model. Energy consumption is minimised by the latest semiconductor technology with an optimum furnace design. Tried-and-tested construction engineering, such as the open cage design furnace, the exchangeable furnace head and the perfected power designs, provide great reliability and maximum versatility to the plant.
ABP has impressed the Russian market, not only through its many years of experience, but also due to its customer relationship, and has recently opened a new Service Center in Moscow. The team there focuses on regular maintenance, repairs and the procurement of spare parts. Jens Kutscher, our head of the Center, says: "ABP customers in Russia particularly profit from the new location because of the fast service in the Russian language.“
