As part of the grand opening of HANNOVER MESSE, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, will open HANNOVER MESSE 2026 together with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. With Brazil, the trade fair has an extremely attractive partner country for the coming year: Latin America's largest economy has significant raw material and energy resources as well as a broadly diversified industry. This makes Brazil one of the world's leading economies and offers numerous opportunities for international cooperation and technological partnerships.

Hanover. Brazil will be presenting itself at the upcoming HANNOVER MESSE under the motto “The Industry of Today.” For years, the country has been striving for greater integration into global value chains. Now, the global realignment of trade relations is opening up good opportunities to push ahead with the ratification of the EU-Mercosur Agreement at HANNOVER MESSE.

"Brazil is the ideal partner country for HANNOVER MESSE 2026, not only because of its expertise in key technologies such as digitalization and renewable energies, but also because of its outstanding geopolitical significance. In a dynamically changing global economy, close cooperation with Brazil is of enormous strategic relevance. This combination makes Brazil an indispensable partner for Germany and Europe," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG.
