In recent years, the company has worked intensively to stabilise the site and secure its long-term future. Despite numerous measures, the economic situation has continued to deteriorate. A decisive factor is the site's heavy dependence on the chemical industry, which has been struggling with economic challenges for some time and has come under increasing pressure in the last year.
After carefully weighing up all the options, the company has come to the conclusion that continuing to operate the plant under the current conditions is no longer economically viable.
The company will centralise its processing activities in Europe at the mineral grinding plant in Hamm in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the business in the long term and secure its long-term viability.
The focus is now on managing the transition responsibly. The employees affected are being given attentive support, and discussions with employee representatives are proceeding in a positive and respectful manner.
CREMER ERZKONTOR GmbH would like to express its sincere thanks to its team in Wesel for their many years of commitment and loyalty.
