Secondary aluminium prices have dropped below €1,000 ($1,327) in Europe for the first time since 2002, a fall market participants say will
endanger many producers. Duty-paid delivered works pressure diecasting ingot (DIN226/A380) fell to trade at €950-1,000 per tonne on Friday
from €1,000-1,100 per tonne previously. This compares with a high of €1,950-2,030 per tonne in March 2008.
