FOSECO releases new,highly reactive low odour and emission PUCB process

POLITEC E are a range of polyurethane cold box binders free from aromatic solvents that have been developed to meet stringent environmental and technical requirements. Odour levels and the release of aromatic compounds at the mixing and casting stage have been greatly reduced.
The POLITEC E range consists of three packages – a standard system suitable for general applications in ferrous and non ferrous, a high-reactivity system for improved productivity and an improved humidity resistance system.
Independent tests at the University Niederrhein, Krefeld in Germany have shown significant reductions in emissions compared with competitive resins.
The environmental benefits of significantly reduced odour and emissions, are complemented by improvements in productivity from reduced amine consumption, shorter gas cycles, and reduced sticking in the core box.
