Dr Michael Mutz has been new head of division Minerals & Mining at AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH in Rheinberg since April 2012.
Mr Jörg Hoffmann MD of AUMUND said that "We are thus strengthening the team and, in a dedicated manner, we are advancing the business segment expansion in this prospering market."
The continually rising demand for raw materials, above all metals, rare earths and fertilizers has taken on a considerable dynamic of its own over the last few years. With raw materials secured, the paths are clear for billions of investment in mining and mining infrastructure. This opens up special levels of mid and long term new market potential for machinery builders in the field of processing and conveying technology.
Dr Mutz said that "With the experience and technical process know-how of AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH, the partner and overseas companies in the AUMUND Group we are in a position to become an interesting technology partner to the large mining companies, consultants and system suppliers and to present products and solutions which satisfy the special demands of this sector."
He added that "The good reputation of the AUMUND Group and the decades long successes in the cement, power and metallurgy sectors are a solid foundation to also gain a foothold as a supplier in the very service oriented mining business."
First contracts have already been awarded to AUMUND by customers such as VALE, EuroChem, OCP, K+S, ThyssenKrupp Polysius, FLS, AUSENCO and SNC.
