Koelnmesse to continue organizing India's leading foundry trade fair
Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) commissions Koelnmesse until 2017
Koelnmesse is further strengthening its position in the Indian trade fair
market. The company's Indian subsidiary, Koelnmesse YA Tradefair, has been
commissioned to continue organizing two trade fairs in India: IFEX, India's
leading exhibition on foundry technology, equipment and supplies; and Cast
India Expo, the international platform for casting manufacturers. In the
context of IFEX 2013 in Kolkata, Koelnmesse and the Institute of Indian
Foundrymen (IIF) agreed to continue their successful cooperation from 2014
to 2017. The two partners have been jointly organizing IFEX since 2006 and
Cast India Expo since 2010.
"This is a clear indication that Koelnmesse will continue to expand its
business activities in India, which is one of the core countries of our
growth strategy outside Germany," says Gerald Böse, Chief Executive Officer
of Koelnmesse GmbH. The extensive experience and in-depth market knowledge
of the company's Indian subsidiary, Koelnmesse YA Tradefair, were crucial
factors motivating the IIF to grant Koelnmesse the follow-on commission. "We
would like to thank the Institute of Indian Foundrymen for their confidence.
This gives us the opportunity to promote these shows internationally with a
more effective long term promotion strategy," adds Ashwani Pande, Managing
Director of Koelnmesse YA Tradefair Pvt. Ltd
In recent years, IFEX has established itself as India's leading exhibition
on foundry technology, equipment and supplies. It takes place annually in
changing venues in India. When the trade fair duo IFEX and Cast India Expo
was held in Kolkata at the end of January 2013, it reasserted its status as
one of the most important meeting points for the foundry technology industry
of India and Southeast Asia, in spite of the difficult current situation of
the heavy metal industry. The next IFEX and Cast India Expo will be held
from 7th to 9th February 2014 in Ahmedabad. The organizers plan to welcome
more than 250 exhibitors on an estimated exhibition area of over 16,000
square metres, as well as approximately 2,000 participants from India and
abroad at the 62nd Indian Foundry Congress, which will be running in
parallel.
In addition to trade fairs in the foundry technology sector, Koelnmesse YA
Tradefair organizes events in other major growth sectors such as food, food
technology, hardware and chemicals. Koelnmesse's business activities in
India received a strong boost after the establishment of the company's
Indian subsidiary in 2008: the number of its trade fairs in India has risen
from three to the present number of twelve. More than 1,000 exhibitors and
approximately 34,000 visitors participate in these events in India in 2012.
