The family-run Thöni Group with its headquarters in Telfs in Tyrol had a very good year. Helmut Thöni is Chairman of the Board of Management and responsible for the Aluminium Division with Automotive Components. Anton Mederle is responsible for the Machinery and Plant Engineering Division with Environmental Energy Technology, the Landeck Metalworks and Casting Equipment as well as the Hose Division. Thomas Bock, as CFO, is responsible for internal services with finance and accounting, risk management and legal as well as human resources. All three should be pleased with the jump in turnover last year. While Thöni recorded annual sales of just under 300 million in previous years, the 400 mark could be cracked in 2021.
Business expansion as sales driver
"The increase in turnover is based on business expansion and the increase in raw material prices," the company says. In September 2019, a new production site was opened in Pfaffenhofen. Almost two years later, Thöni invested a further 11 million euros in a logistics centre including a fully automated high-bay warehouse. This expansion was necessary in part due to the increased demand from the automotive industry.
