In the course of modernizing the foundry, a new concept was introduced. The existing technological line should be replaced by a conceptually modern arrangement of the machines. The aim was to ensure high flexibility for the very wide range of products while at the same time increasing the economic efficiency of the technological line ranging from the moulding plant to the shot blasting cabin.
The installed plant consists of a shake-out station, a vibrating feeder for the transport of used sand with integrated cooling system, a sorting conveyor and a vibrating feeder for crushing sand lumps. In the first section of the plant, the hot cast is separated from the sand by a VARIO shake-out feeder. This applies in particular to very sensitive casts, which can be gently separated and transported thanks to the freely programmable setting of speed and vibrating angle. The shake-out parameters are automatically selected according to the moulding box. After that, a manipulator sorts out the casts as well as part of the return material from the following conveyor. The remaining small parts are then transported further into a bucket.
The acoustic limits could be achieved through an appropriately designed noise protection housing.
ConviTec’s scope of delivery also includes the new electric switch and control system which is in line with the modern requirements of future-proof equipment. In this respect, special attention was paid to needs-oriented energy consumption and modern communication technology with the control system.
This project is an excellent example of a smart solution for planning, manufacture, assembly and start-up and clearly shows ConviTec’s competence in foundry and their customer’s satisfaction.
