According to an industry body, car sales in India rose an annual 4.2% in April, helped by improving financing and demand from rural markets. Companies sold 102,899 cars during the month, compared with 98,752 cars a year ago, data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers showed.
The data showed that sales of trucks and buses, which track the pace of economic activity, fell by 11.3% to 29,842 units.
