With the opening of the new 6,000 square meter toolshop, Schaufler Tooling has reached an important strategic milestone in strengthening its presence in China and expanding its global manufacturing network. It is now possible to manufacture moulds with a total weight of over 200 tons for casting machines with a clamping force of up to 12,000 tons. "We are the only die-casting mould group with its own production sites in the three main markets for high-pressure die-cast parts," states CEO Siegfried Heinrich.

The idea for the plant in China was born at Euroguss 2020
The foundation of Schaufler Tooling in China dates back to 2019. In the beginning, it was an engineering office in which the first projects for die-casting moulds for casting a rear carrier were realised. At Euroguss 2020, the idea of setting up an entire plant in China was finally born. In the following months, during the Covid pandemic, Schaufler Tooling began searching for a suitable location. The final decision was made in favour of Haiyan, which is located one hour southwest of Shanghai. During the construction phase of the new toolshop, Schaufler Tooling started assembling moulds in a rented production hall from July 2022. After just a few months, the first Giga mould was delivered successfully and on time. The next big step was taken at the end of 2023 with the opening and occupation of the new plant. Special thanks go to the local authorities for ensuring the smooth construction of the new plant.

Schaufler Tooling´s current focus in Haiyan is on new and follow-up tools, rebuils, maintenance, tool repair and engineering changes.
