The Institute of Indian Foundry Men (IIF) has honored Mr. Subodh Panchal with the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding life’s work and his exceptional contributions to the Indian and global foundry industry.
For more than four decades, Subodh Panchal has been a defining figure in the sector—an industry visionary, global ambassador, and leading representative of India’s foundry community. He has consistently combined technical excellence with a clear strategic vision for the sustainable growth and international competitiveness of the Indian foundry sector. During his tenure as National President of the IIF, he developed a solid, forward-looking roadmap for the Institute, setting important impulses for its structural and strategic advancement.
On the international stage, he represented India with distinction and intellectual leadership in the World Foundry Organization (WFO), within the BRICS framework, at the China Foundry Association, and on numerous other prominent global platforms. A proud son of Gujarat, he has played a pivotal role in fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship and excellence, inspiring countless foundries across India to compete successfully on the global stage.
His commitment extends far beyond the melting furnace and shop floor. He has been actively engaged in industry policy, education, and the advancement of ductile iron manufacturing processes, thereby creating a sustainable legacy for future generations. Under his presidency, the IFEX (Indian Foundry Exhibition) achieved a major financial milestone, surpassing a significant revenue benchmark for the first time and establishing a new standard for professional excellence and growth—an achievement that continues to have lasting impact.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Panchal is widely respected for his humility, his mentorship of young engineers, and his community-oriented leadership approach. These qualities have made him one of the most admired and respected personalities in the global metal casting fraternity.
In grateful recognition of his monumental service and his role in “shaping the future” of the nation, the Institute of Indian Foundry Men presented Mr. Subodh Panchal with the Lifetime Achievement Award on February 12, 2026.
The award was conferred by Sushil Sharma, President of the IIF, and Prayut Bhamawat, Honorary Secretary of the IIF.
