Mr. Bühlmann holds a degree in engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. During his professional career, he has been active in numerous industries as a managing director, supervisory board member and board member. For example, in the automotive tier 1 sector, in drive technology, in mechanical and plant engineering, in the rubber and plastics sector as well as in the process industry. Due to his excellent language skills – he speaks six languages – he has been active in several European countries as well as in Japan, China and Russia in addition to the DACH region. With the implementation of growth strategies, which resulted in considerable cost reductions and double-digit sales increases, and the development of new markets, Ulrich Bühlmann and his employees have recorded numerous successes. For Kurtz GmbH & Co. KG he predicts good growth opportunities for the future.
Ulrich Bühlmann has been working for the Kurtz Ersa Group since January 2023 and has set an important strategic course in recent months. The realignment will focus on optimizing existing technologies and future technologies such as radio frequency technology, the latter of which makes biodegradable material processable, among other things. In addition, the area of building insulation is also becoming increasingly important, as the market potential is high. For example, RF will make it possible to produce more sustainable insulation panels from combinations of materials.
Lightweight construction continues to hold great potential for both divisions of Kurtz GmbH & Co. KG. Kurtz Casting Solutions, as a pioneer in the industry for GIGA low pressure casting, continues to drive this technology forward. New machine generations in the area of casting and trimming enable a new form for the production of large castings, which are not only used in the area of e-mobility. These new products round off the range in interaction with the existing machines and offer a solution for all areas of lightweight construction and special applications in casting. In both business areas, he also sees great potential for the optimization of existing plants with the help of the latest tools of Data Science and AI, respectively.
Ulrich Bühlmann succeeds the Managing Directors Uwe Rothaug and Matthias Hofmann. Both have been active within the Group for over 15 years and have decided to take on new professional challenges. The Kurtz Ersa Group would like to thank them for their great commitment and the many successfully mastered projects.
