Citation Corp.’s Alabama plant is helping fulfill a $200 million contract the company recently was awarded.
The plant in Brewton is producing cylinder carriers and spider <link _top>casting brake components for Akebono Brake Corp., which supplies to the global auto industry, said a news release.
The contract was awarded for the next five years and the Brewton plant is expected to produce the parts through 2009.
Citation estimates 65 million <link _top>castings will be produced over the life of the five-year contract, said the release.
Citation is based in Michigan and employs 2,300 employees in Alabama, Texas, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin. It designs, develops and manufactures components for the transportation and industrial markets.
