During the 2010 industry meeting of the foundry machinery association within VDMA at Bosch Rexroth, the member companies suggested to organise a symposium in Egypt. Several of them spontaneously manifested their interest already during the meeting. Based on the official proposal, 15 VDMA member companies registered for participation, representing an excellent cross-section of the industry (list in alphabetical order):

The Symposium will take place in December , 2011 at Marriott Hotel, Cairo.
On site partners are DAIHK (German-Arabic Chamber of Industry and Commerce) and CMRDI (Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute, Foundry Technology Department).
