GER - Additive manufacturing assembles in Erfurt

Reading time: min

The Rapid.Tech 2012 on 8-9 May provides a wide range of products and lectures for additive and prototype manufacturing.

Components produced with additive technologies are finding their way into an ever-increasing number of industries and provide the respective products with unique features, according to the show organiser Messe Erfurt. In addition to the user conference and engineer day, the show programme also includes the specialist forums "CAD/CAM and Rapid Prototyping in dentistry technology", "Medical technology" and "Aviation". Last year, the show recorded 1,200 visitors and conference participants as well as 56 exhibitors.

In addition to the technical components in the development of generative products, economic issues are becoming increasingly important, in the industry, organiser said. Changes in the industry are also raising a number of questions: What effect do generative production procedures have on the organisation of the product development process? What can and must adapted business models look like? Questions such as these are seen providing plenty of topics for discussion at the show.
