USA - More now working at Great Lakes Castings

Reading time: min

There were 42 more people working at Great Lakes Castings in November than there were a year earlier as the company is gaining new customers.

“Our existing customers were placing more orders and we were able to get some new work from some new customers,” said the Ludington plant’s human resources director, Mike Helsel.

Helsel said Great Lakes Castings — between its facilities in Ludington and Holland — employed 184 people in November 2009 and 226 in 2010. He said the company called back workers who had been laid off and also used Manpower to recruit new temporary workers, who are now Great Lakes Castings employees.
