After the celebrations in 2019 for the 50th anniversary, Italpresse Gauss started 2020 in Nuremberg at EUROGUSS, the international reference fair for the die casting sector which took place from 14 to 16 January with a new, huge, milestone achieved.
During EUROGUSS 2020, Italpresse Gauss presented the first toggle-free two-platen die casting machine with 5700t closing force, with huge platens: 3500 x 3500 mm.
Marco Giegold, Area Sales Manager at Italpresse Gauss, tells us more about the machine and what’s driving the demand for ever larger die casting equipment:
“This large size has become necessary because our customers are making ever bigger components and structural parts. This is partly due to the ongoing lightweighting trend, but also to the rise of e-mobility – where battery housings are a key example. Customers who are establishing new manufacturing facilities for electric vehicles are particularly interested in this machine. Our TF 5700 is the biggest toggle-free machine to date and is ahead of its time digitally, too: our machines are primed for advanced use of data and are open for the connection to customer-specific systems – or to our own digital products. The market’s responded very positively to it and we’re getting enquiries from around the world”.
The EUROGUSS stand combined digital simulations and physical machines of the Norican Group companies, of which Italpresse Gauss has been part of since 2017: these solutions enabled visitors to take an incredible journey through the whole aluminium die casting production chain.
