The groundbreaking ceremony for a new three-storey building took place on, Friday 13 October, on part of the company's expansion area. Dr Jürgen Ude, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digitalisation of Saxony-Anhalt, and André Klimm, Managing Director of Laempe gave the welcoming addresses to around 150 people present. On around 2,000 square metres, space will be created for around 100 employees in the areas of HR, controlling, finance, purchasing, construction, marketing and service, among others. Completion of the building is scheduled for the end of 2024. Laempe is investing a mid-seven-figure sum from its own funds for the expansion and is also taking advantage of a subsidy from the state of Saxony-Anhalt for the building project. The special machinery manufacturer is one of the largest companies in the Magdeburg area and is a partner for foundries worldwide.
With the new building, Laempe strengthens its main location in Meitzendorf and bundles competences on site. The Meitzendorf site has developed into the company's headquarters in the more than 40-year history of the company, where the production, service and complete administration, including finance, controlling and materials management, are located. Laempe has additional locations in Schopfheim (technology development) and Mannheim (image processing). The new building in Meitzendorf is primarily intended to offer employees, some of whom currently work from temporary workplaces for capacity reasons, a modern, central workplace. In addition to the existing workplaces, new employees are also to be added in the new building. Laempe plans to further expand the current 380 workplaces in the coming years.
"We have been a training company and a strong employer in the region for many years. Laempe always aims to be an attractive employer and has therefore revised our workplaces to offer our employees a modern working environment. With the new building, we are sending a signal that we will continue to be strong for the region in the future," explains André Klimm, Managing Director at Laempe Mössner Sinto. Laempe offers its employees a wide range of benefits, including, for example, flexible working hours, further training opportunities, health offers and much more.
Laempe is an important training company in the region and supplies the world
Over the past 30 years, Laempe has trained more than 200 young people - whether in apprenticeships or as part of BA studies. The vast majority have started a career with the supplier of nuclear manufacturing technology after completing their training. In Meitzendorf, Laempe builds core shooters, mixing systems, automation and robotics solutions for foundries worldwide, among other things. The products produced with Laempe's machines are so-called sand cores, which are used to cast metal castings. The export quota is around 80 per cent and from Meitzendorf, the markets Turkey, India as well as South and North America in particular are to be expanded in the coming years.
Successful appearance at the leading global trade fair GIFA in June
Laempe recently successfully participated in GIFA (12 to 16.6.2023 in Düsseldorf) and presented its product and service portfolio at the leading global trade fair as the world's leading supplier in core making technology and presented its complete product and service portfolio for hybrid core making. Hybrid core making gives foundries worldwide the flexibility they need in an era of transformation - all with the aim of producing in a resource-efficient way and at the lowest unit costs. In the hybrid approach, foundries and core makers can decide which cores will be produced traditionally ("shot"), which cores will be produced via additive manufacturing ("printed") and which cores may be bought in ("core as a service").
