An economist by training, Dr. Theuringer joins BDG from the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl), bringing over 20 years of experience in industrial and economic policy, particularly in the fields of energy policy, sustainability, and market analysis.
“Steel and foundry industries face major challenges. I want to use my experience to strengthen the foundry industry and help secure its future in Germany,” said Theuringer during his introductory visit to the BDG office in Düsseldorf.
BDG President Clemens Küpper emphasized the importance of this personnel decision: “With Dr. Theuringer, we are gaining an outstanding leader for our energy-intensive mid-sized sector. In the midst of the current industrial crisis, it is essential to represent the interests of German foundries with a strong and credible voice.”
Max Schumacher also expressed his confidence: “Dr. Theuringer will continue the work successfully and further position the industry for the future.”
