Of course, things are picking up in many parts of the world at the moment, with Covid-19 incidences thankfully declining almost everywhere and people's vaccinations increasing.

Economic life, manufacturing and supply chains are getting used to change, and yet there is still a lot of uncertainty in much of the world about viral mutation and how policies and societies will deal with it.

Many events and trade fairs for the entire foundry industry had to be cancelled or postponed again this year, some are scheduled for the second half of 2021 and the organizers assure to hold on.

In order to give you an up-to-date status and an overview, we have re-listed the most important dates for our foundry industry without any guarantee.

Perspective requires courage from all participants

The perspectives and interests of the organizers, exhibitors and visitors alike are at stake, because everyone wants to be confident that a return to the usual normality will be possible. This then affects us all and requires that we are brave enough and willing to allow and attend face-to-face events again, even though we have just become accustomed to digital communication and have also learned to appreciate its advantages.

Digital events, webinars, seminars, remote services and others will remain with us, but we should also be aware of the value of face-to-face encounters all the way to the conclusion of contracts as traders in an entire industry.

This implies that suppliers, consultants and industry companions want to show again what they have to offer and develop and at the same time potential customers and interested parties have to visit the events as visitors and be supported by your companies to participate in person.

Even if communication, media and interaction have changed, we humans can decide for ourselves what differentiates us from AI and purely digital exchange. Let's give the analog in us the same chance that we now give the digital environment. Let's once again use the situational charm of a shared drink at a booth, hotel bar or evening event. Before Covid-19, companies and people invested a lot in precisely these contacts and the cultivation of business relationships, which helped us well through the contactlessness of the pandemic and we should not forget that, despite all the convenience and appeal of the new communication options.
