Kai Pieronczyk has been the new commercial managing director at Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH (SW) since April 2023. He succeeds Markus Schmolz, who ended his employment with the company at the end of 2022 after 21 years. At SW, the world market leader for multi-spindle CNC machining centres based in Waldmössingen, Pieronczyk is concentrating on the international expansion of the business.

Growth always means change - especially when entire process chains and structures have to be fundamentally rethought in the course of economic expansion. It is now Kai Pieronczyk's task to ensure that SW remains firmly established on the international market in the future. "The decisive factor is direct contact in the respective country - from logistics to sales to after-sales service," explains the new commercial director. "This requires personal contact persons, local networks and a reliable service offer on site."

Kai Pieronczyk has many years of experience in the areas of finance & controlling, information technology, purchasing and purchasing optimization, as well as supply chain management, especially in Asia. The 39-year-old graduate in business administration most recently held overall commercial responsibility at the Chinese location of a German supplier in the automotive industry. Pieronczyk will benefit from his experience in the Asian market, because SW, the machine tool manufacturer from Waldmössingen, is currently putting out more feelers in the Asian region - as well as in North America and Mexico. In this way, SW wants to further expand its own position as a leading manufacturer of solutions in smart manufacturing, especially for large components in the e-mobility sector.

"Exciting tasks lie ahead of us: Topics such as sustainability, digitalization and the standardization, harmonization and automation of processes will remain crucial in the coming years," says Pieronczyk, looking forward to his new area of responsibility. In the future, he wants to pay special attention to smooth supply chain management for SW. In times of global dependencies and temporary bottlenecks, a forward-looking and prudent strategy is needed to manage these requirements flexibly, Pieronczyk explains. But SW is well equipped for the tasks ahead: "I see great potential and, of course, the corresponding know-how, as well as the necessary infrastructure at SW to continue to position ourselves as a strong partner in machining production - in Germany as well as internationally.
