Marco Checcacci, CEO and owner of Smith & Mason Italia, has over 25 years’ aluminium foundry industry experience, and will be responsible for promoting and selling ItalPresseGauss’ full range of high pressure die casting solutions.
Based in Milan, but with a country-wide remit, Mr Checcacci will be supported by the sales engineer Giulio Lenzi, who has a wide experience in high pressure die casting process and will primarily operate across central and southern Italian regions.
Tecnoindustriale Veneta, who has been ItalPresseGauss's agent for many years, will continue to cover the regions of Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Smith & Mason team will work closely with Andrea Locati, head of Sales in IPG Brescia, with the aim to reinforce the presence and support of ItalPresseGauss to the Italian customers.
Marco, together with Giulio, will be familiar faces to many of the foundries they will be working with in this new capacity, having already played a key role in expanding the reach of fellow Norican brand, StrikoWestofen, across the Italian die casting market.
Smith & Mason has represented the StrikoWestofen furnace solutions company since 1995 and will continue to do so alongside his new ItalPresseGauss duties.

News of Smith & Mason’s appointment is not the only significant announcement to come out of ItalPresseGauss’ Brescia headquarters recently.
Late last year in addition to becoming the new head of ItalpresseGauss, Marco Gandini was named Senior Vice President Global Aluminium at Norican Group, with overall responsibility for both ItalPresseGauss and StrikoWestofen.
Marco Checcacci added: “It makes perfect sense to look at the aluminium foundry market holistically.
ItalPresseGauss and StrikoWestofen are of course brands in their own right, each with their own respective offering and customer base. But there’s also a lot of natural overlap. In my new capacity, I am in the great position of being able to help with both melting and casting requirements either as individual elements or as part of a complete solution.”
